Who We Are
501(c) 3 Corporation founded in 1987
FEI Number 22-2954282
Judy Price, the founder of our organization, has shown undying love of animals since she had the ability to walk. She was bringing injured animals, birds, reptiles, and bugs home even before she started school. Thankfully her parents were understanding and helped her whenever they could. When Judy reached her teens and her parents would leave on vacation, they would ask her not to bring too many animals home while they were gone, but knew there would be a few new faces upon their arrival. Judy has been an activist for all animals especially the horse since she was old enough to talk. After having sheltered numerous animals, having to buy a larger property for them, she established Adopt-A-Horse, Ltd., Inc. in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. To find more room and better climate for the animals, she moved her family and animals to Sebring, Florida in August 1989. This move was a televised segment on Charles Karault's Sunday Morning in 1990.
Recently Adopt-A-Horse, Ltd., Inc. and Equine Limousine have joined forces to the benefit of the horses and both companies. Moving to a 70 acres farm in Reddick, Florida has made life a lot easier. All the horses are now in nearly one place, except for Lake Placid.
Our new goal along with saving horses and other animals from slaughter, neglect and abuse is to give them a new meaning for their lives. It is a well known fact that horses and their devotion to humans is intoxicating and therapeutic. Our horses and other animals are the vehicles to take everyone, young and old, healthy or sickly, rich or poor, on the most wonderful adventure. To give these animals a purpose which has been missing and to give, as well as receive, unconditional love.
With Natural Horsemanship, these horses will accept humans without reservation. They will trust our every action and try to please us happily instead of under duress. Our volunteers are being taught Natural Horsemanship.
We would like to invite everyone to come on board and join us for the ride of our lives.
