For years, we have had a dream that might be pretty hard to achieve. But here it is.
A large home type building with one end an "assisted living facility" the other end for "foster children" with a central living area. The elderly who sometimes have no one caring about them would be able to become "surrogate grandparents" for these unwanted children. Imagine all the conversations they could have. Each would also have their own living area where they would not have to mingle with the others when they were not in the mood.
Also the people in this facility could bring their beloved pets with them, instead of giving them up when they can no longer live in their home. We used to see adult children bringing in their parent's dog and/or cat when the person had to go into a care facility. These pets would grieve for weeks over the loss of their loved one. It was always so sad. At "Blue Rain Manor" if the residents pass away or go into the hospital, we would keep their pet for the rest of its life.
There would be areas for these residents to plant their gardens for beauty or food. Places to picnic outside or just to relax in a comfy chair smelling the air and listening to nature.
This facility is surrounded by our rescued animals. Many of the animals would be retrained to participate in the lives of these residents. Children and elderly need the love of other people and animals to help keep a positive attitude. Those capable could participate in the care and feeding of the rescues.
At this point it is only a vision but someday we want it to be a reality.
